Renew your existing Membership

How to renew at any time

You can renew your ILDA Membership at any time by clicking on your name at the upper right which takes you to your Profile.

The top part of the Profile page says "Membership Details." Under this is a link where you can renew.

How to renew during the renewal period

ILDA's dues year is February 1 to the following January 31. Dues therefore expire January 31 of each year. During a period from January through March, ILDA sends about 3 or 4 automated renewal notices to Members. The notices are sent to the email address listed in your ILDA Membership profile (the same email address you use to log in).

Just click the link in the automated renewal notice email. It will take you directly to a screen where you can begin the renewal process.

You can also log into this website (ildamember.com) and look in the lower right of the screen. During the renewal period, you should see a link which says something like "Click to renew" or "Membership has lapsed". Click on this link to go to a page that should have a button where you can renew.

Change your Membership level

The option to change to a different Membership level is on your profile page (click "View profile" in the upper right of any page). 

The option is visible only if your current level has the ability to change to a different level. Click on the Change Membership Level link. You will see the levels you can switch to. We are sorry, but we do not have the ability to refund money if you change from a higher-cost level to a less expensive one.

If the option to change to your desired level is not visible, or you have any questions or problems, please contact ILDA.

Membership requirements

Membership in ILDA is open to companies, organizations and individuals who manufacture or use laser display devices or services. Members must affirm their commitment to ILDA's Code of Ethics and to safe laser shows; for more information, see our Membership Requirements. Memberships are subject to review by the ILDA Board of Directors as per ILDA's Bylaws.

Note for companies interested in the ILDA Accredited Professional Lasershow Company program: IAPLC is a separate accreditation process. You cannot sign up for IAPLC membership or status on this website. You must apply through the accreditation process which is detailed on the IAPLC page at ILDA's main website. After review and approval, we will manually update your status to reflect that you are an Accredited Professional company.

  

Discount for new members joining in mid-year

ILDA's dues year runs from February 1 to the following January 31. (This was changed from Jan 1-Dec 31 in 2025. This was done to remove the hassle of having to renew during the busy time in the last few weeks of a year, with holidays and New Years shows.)

  • Current members pay full dues, no matter when during the year they renew.
  • New members joining between February 1 and April 30 also pay full dues. There is a prorated "mid-year" discount for new members joining between May 1 and November 30. New members joining during December and January pay full dues and get the remainder of the current year plus all of the next year (e.g., 14 or 13 months of membership for the price of 12).

Members in the past 3 years pay full dues

Note that there is no mid-year discount for current and recent past Members. This is to avoid a situation where Members let their membership lapse, and then rejoin in the middle of the year to try and save money. Instead, current and recent past Members pay the full membership dues no matter when in the year they renew (or rejoin).

"Recent past Members" means if a company or person was an ILDA Member in any of the three years immediately preceding the current membership year.

  • For example, if you were a Member in 2022, and you wanted to rejoin during 2025, you would pay full price. This is because you were a member during one of the three years immediately preceding 2025 (e.g., 2022, 2023 and 2024). In 2026 you will have been out of ILDA for four years, so you can join as a "new" member and be eligible for any applicable mid-year discount.
